Vista cannot access shared printer & folder on XP

Two issues here:

1. A Compaq laptop running Vista Home Basic cannot access the shared printer and folder on an HP desktop running XP Home Edition, SP2. I have downloaded and installed the LLTD add-on recommended by Microsoft, but the Vista machine still cannot see the XP desktop when I view the network. All machines on the home network have the same workgroup name. There are a couple of XP Home laptops that have no problem, and can easily access the printer and shared documents folder.

2. An HP laptop running XP home has a similar problem. I ran the networking wizard, gave it the same workgroup name, and it does not see the shared resources on its fellow XP desktop.

I would appreciate any help that will solve the problem.

Have you disabled (or set the local network to trusted on) any firewall software that may be on either of the effected computers?
