The last 3 or 4 days i have been getting the blue screen and the error
"stop: 0x000000F4 (0x00000003, 0x818cd560, 0x818cd64d4, 0x805F9F88)"
Havent got a clue what it means
I have run chkdsk and memtest and found nothing
It seems to happen after the computer is on for a while
Have also deframented my harddrive today
Also the computer is now running very slow (snail like) speed
The last few weeks i have been hearing something in the computer like a drive stalling when spinning kind of stopping and starting
Then sometimes the thing would just freeze up
Would have to hold the power button down to turn it off then start again
Sometimes this would happen after 10 minutes on or after 2 or 4 hours
Sometimes when i start it up i get a message in the top left saying
"Operating System Not Found"
I restart and it might be fine or i could restart for and hour non stop and still nothing
I then resart into safe mode-reboot and fine again
Might not happen again for a day or a month
Dont know if my HD is dying
I have it about 3 years
My specs:
Samsung x05 1.5Ghz Laptop
Intel Centrino Pentium M
Windows XP Home with SP2 and all current updates as of 18/02/207
Panda Internet Security 2007
(which for some reason has the firewall disabled ever since i defragged today-if anyody knows about this too)
Programs running in backround
WinPatrol
Intel ProSet

Airport Disk Agent(from apples new airport extreme base station)
I have ony done a clean istal of XP about 3 weeks ago
I mainly use the computer for sufing with firefox or using utorrent
At the minute it is taking a good 3 mins for everything to load up
and still it is so slow
right click on something and wait 20 seconds then the context box appears
Whereas last year i was able to run Photoshop CS2 on it using it for mild phto retouching and editing
PLEASE I need help
Is it software related like something to do with the sytem power settings
or is it hardware and my drive is gonna go
Or could it be something caught inside the laptop maybe causing it to overheat and inturn causing the error
Anyway any help on this would be really great

Welcome to GeekstoGo! noreds,

If what you heard is actually the HD then it is going bad, sorry. I'll research the problem and post back. BACKUP EVERYTHING NOW BEFORE IT IS TO LATE!!!

Then its not one. It would be set as slave if you moved the jumper on the drive itself, ill keep researching...

ok thanks for the quick response
let me know if there is anymore info you need me to provide
Also got the blue screen again last night and got this message:

"Kenel_data_page_error

STOP: 0x0000007A (0xc03E12Bc, 0x000000E. 0xF84AF642, 0x09318860)

ftdisk,sys - Address F84AF642 base at F84A5000. DateStamp 3b7d8419"

Dont know if that helps or makes it worse
But any help on this would be great
I have backed up my important files to an external drive
If it is the drive thats gone would it be worth buying a new drive (if available)
or better off getting a new laptop (which i cant really afford at the min)
Was thinking of checking out the apple ibooks
would i get as much trouble with mac os as i do with the everyday probelms we all face with windows

Ok got another blue screen stating :

"KERNAL_STACK_INPAGE_ERROR
STOP: 0x00000077 (0Xc000000E, 0xC000000E, 0x00000000, 0X003AF000)"

Now i keep getting the "operating system not found"
It seems to be getting slower and slower everytime i start it up
Could it be something like the harddv=rive not aligned properly which is why it sometimes works ok on startup and sometimes doesnt
being a laptop and getting moved around alot could this be the case
will i be able to change the drive in the laptop myself
if so where would i find specs and diagrams for my model
Could it just be a major corruption in windows and maybe a reinstall could help
