I just built a new computer and decided to go with Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit for my operating system. The computer boots just fine and the installation DVD starts up without trouble. I have a genuine purchased OEM copy. I answer the questions about reigon and such and when I get to the hard drive properties i create a 20GB partition for Windows and create another partition for the remaining 230GB. I install the latest Vista 64 SATA driver on both partitions and then begin installing. The install goes smoothly until it gets to the "Installing Updates" portion. It will stay there for about 10 minutes then I will get the error message "Windows could not update registry data in the installation". At that point I have no other choice but to exit the installation. Everything in the computer is brand new, including the hard drive. I also updated the BIOS to the newest version, which was released about 3 weeks ago.

Any help on this problem would be greatly appreciated.
