I came home and saw our computer on with just a blue screen of death and the following:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer

  BAD_POOL_CALLER

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed:
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.

If problems continue, disable BIOS options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart tiy computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select Safe Mode.

Technical Information:

  *** STOP: 0x000000C2 (0x00000060, 0x0CFCBAEF, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Beginning dump of physical memory
Physical memory dump complete.
Contact your system administrator or technical support group for further assistance.

I know this is not good. I have contacted Dell and they will respond shortly. Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

I loaded some cheap digital camera image software that came with the camera. It runs through twain_32 and I think that is cause of the problem. I had also got the smae BSOD except "BAD_POOL_CALLER" was replaced by "IRQL_LESS_NOT_EQUAL". I got that one when I was using the image software. I have uninstalled the software to see if that helps. Thanks for the help ditto. <_<
