GPU throtting suddenly, unknown reason

In the middle of the day, the GPU started running my game suddenly at <10 fps, no reason.  Ran a benchmark and looks like this.

 

GPUs dont just suddenly die.  Any ideas why it would just throttle???

Doesn't let me post the picture but it's basically a Benchmark of 1287 for a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU when the average is 12163
