Hi Everybody. I having trouble with my computer. When I click on a link it freezes and stops responding. afterwards I get a 'Sever Busy Error' saying that 'Switch to' will correct the problem. When I click switch to what happens is that it goes to the start up screen. After clicking retry for about twenty times, I receive a Internet Scipt error saying no such interface is supported. Can Anybody help me with this out there??? My HIJACK LOG is as follows:

Hello CaponeCityKid and welcome to the GTG forums. After reviewing your log I see a number of items which require our attention. Please proceed with the following steps in order.

Step #1

Important
Your copy of HijackThis needs to be in a folder of it's own. If it is run from Temporary folders the backups and HijackThis itself could be accidentally deleted if the Temporary folders are cleaned. If it running from the desktop the backup files/folders could be accidentally removed.* Please open My Computer
* Double-click on Local Disk (C:)
* Click on the File menu, point to New and then click on Folder. Name the folder 'HijackThis' or 'HJT'.
* Unzip to or copy and paste HijackThis.exe to the new folder.
Step #2

Start HijackThis and click the Scan button to perform a scan. Look for the following items and click in the checkbox in front of each item to select it:R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://red.clientapp...://my.yahoo.com
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {1C044AAD-7955-4cbd-8175-501A165C4E5D} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\req.dat
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {8DA5457F-A8AA-4CCF-A842-70E6FD274094} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {B4308025-3BE3-204D-99D3-3581ECCD5E95} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdxcau.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {B66DDF2D-62B5-774D-99D3-3581ECCD5E94} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdxcau.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SearchUpgrader] C:\Program Files\Common files\SearchUpgrader\SearchUpgrader.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Ltho] C:\WINDOWS\system32\dees.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Gkkzxv] C:\WINDOWS\system32\??chost.exe
O20 - Winlogon Notify: req - C:\WINDOWS\system32\req.dat

Now close ALL open windows except HijackThis and click the Fix Checked button to finish the repair.

Step #3

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:
  • Click Start.
  • Open My Computer.
  • Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
  • Select the View tab.
  • Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
  • Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
  • Click Yes to confirm.
  • Click OK.
Find the following files/folders and delete them (don't worry if they are already gone):C:\WINDOWS\system32\req.dat
C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdxcau.dll
C:\Program Files\Common files\SearchUpgrader\ <--folder
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dees.exe

Step #4

Download CleanUp! and install it. Start CleanUp! and click on the CleanUp! button. Let it run to completion. It may take a few minutes depending on the size of your hard drive so be patient.

Step #5

Start Notepad and copy/paste the text from the quotebox below into the new document:

dir C:\WINDOWS\system32\??chost.exe /a h > files.txt notepad files.txt

Save the file to your desktop as findfile.bat and then close Notepad. Locate the findfile.bat on your desktop and double-click on it. Notepad should open up with a document in it. Post the information in the document along with your next log file.

Step #6

I also recommend that you uninstall Kazaa Lite and eDonkey2000 (if it is the free version). Both of these programs install hijackers and adware without your permission and cause the very problems that you are describing here. If you would like to use a p2p application see this article on Clean and Infected File Sharing Programs.

Step #7

OK. Reboot your computer normally, start HijackThis and perform a new scan. Post your new log file back here along with the information which the findfile.bat file found using the Add Reply button and I will review it when it comes in.
