Hi. Thanks in advance for the help. I have been noticing a slow down on my laptop internet connection as well as an inability to connect to Google with my laptop (but not with my desktop). I was wondering if there was an unseen problem with my computer. I performed the steps outlined in the "Read Me" section and neither AVG, SuperAntiSpyware, Antivir, Adaware was able to detect a problem (Antivir detected a problem with Panda, but I think it is a false detection). Panda Online detected 4 problems, but they were links in the browser for IE and Firefox (although I couldn't figure which ones). I was able to delete the Firefox ones, but not the IE ones.

Here is my log for Hijack This:

I have the logs to the other scans, but I'm not sure if they will be helpful. I can include them in if needed. Thanks again for the help. Have a good day.

Thank you for the reply. Will start on this today. Incidently, I finally found some posts that I did a couple of years ago when I had a similar problem. It turned out that it was ZoneAlarm that was preventing me from accessing Google. I had to uninstall the program before things worked again. I have Comodo now. I would hate to uninstall that, but I think I'll try that after scanning everything.

Thanks for your patience. I had to do two scans for Kaspersky because I didn't set the parameters right. Both came up with the same result of no malware.

Unfortunately, disabling Comodo didn't have any effect. I didn't uninstall it however. I am waiting to see if anything else could explain the lack of accessing Google from my laptop only.

As far as I can tell, yes. I had this problem once before. At the suggestion of others, I went through pinging Google through the cmd function and resetting my router to a lower security setting. Oddly, Google worked when I went to my sister's home and used her wireless setup. In the end, I discovered it was ZoneAlarm Free that was causing my problems. Since then, I uninstalled ZoneAlarm and I haven't had a problem like this until the last two weeks. I'm using Comodo firewall right now. I'm hoping it's not Comodo as I really like this firewall.

Sorry it took a while to get back. Work schedule is a little erratic this week. Here is the log file requested.

# Copyright © 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
#
# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
#
# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host

name.
# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
# space.
#
# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
#
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

Thanks again for looking.

The firewall was added last year in October. The problem has just been the past few weeks. But it is interesting to note that the firewall does get updated, but the desktop computer shares the same firewall and does not have the same problem.

Update: I decided to uninstall Comodo to see if that would solve the problem like it did with Zonealarm. As it turns out, it's not Comodo. I haven't installed anything new to the computer that I can think of. I'm stumped as to the cause and solution to this problem.

After reading a little more off the internet, I decided to reduce my security to my router from WPA2 AES to WPA2 TKIP. I am able to get Google once again. I also uninstalled an undervolting program call Notebook Hardware Control as well so I'm not sure which is the culprit at this time. I'll reinstate the AES shortly to see if I can still access Google. Other website were starting to be affected as well in the last few days. Thanks for looking at my computer nonetheless. At least I know I don't have any malware hidden in my laptop.
