OK, heres whats going on. I experienced a lsass.exe error a few days back and my computer was shutting down before i could even log into windows. After reading up on some of the options i had, i reinstalled windows, but it didnt replace the old version of windows. I am currently running the new version of windows and my laptop is running reasonably ok, but i am still haveing some problems with it. I deleted the old corrupt installation already and my important files are backed up. So i decided to try and reformat my hard drive just to start everything out clean. When i boot using the recovery disc that came with my Alienware m5500, it loads all the files and scans for previous versions of windows, but when it gets to the screen where u choose where u want to install windows are edit partitions, the computer will just shut down. It will sometimes randomly shut down when i am in windows too. I dont know what is causing this problem and am wondering if there is any way to find out. Could it be hardware or is it most likely software? Thanks in advance for any help.
