Hi all,

I have a phone that plays MP4s, but it's very selective - one will play fine, the next will play without sound, the next throws an error and doesn't play at all. My computer is running both Windows XP Home and Ubuntu, and I was wondering whether I am able to rip a DVD into either MP4 or 3GP format, using either OS.

Is there software that will make this easier for me? If not, is there a complex way of doing it successfully?

I have tried using a CLI program called Handbrake with Linux, but it only ripped 10 minutes of DVD and then stopped abruptly. If you are experienced with Handbrake, maybe you could help me out there instead?

In any case, thanks in advance,

- Amos

Are these DVD copy protected?

How do I tell?
The one I tried has the FA©T logo on the back, but it worked (although it only made a ten minute clip).
