hi guys, I am new to this forum and have a specific problem with my pc. I am by no means an expert on computers, hence my post! I have been having problems with my pc for a few weeks now with it running very slow. Searching google I came across some programme called Regcure which I downloaded and let it run every day to hopefully clean my registry. To be honest the programme does not seem to have made the pc any faster! On returning from holiday last week having left my pc on the whole time, I noticed all the icons on my desktop had symbols instead of text underneath them. If I try and click on any icon or hold my mouse pointer on any icon I just get a load of little squares, dashes, dots, you name it but no eligable text. If I try and open any programme it is the same, just a load of gobeldy gook! However if I hook up with the internet, anything on aol I can read although on the top line where File, edit etc. normally is, again is just symbols! can anyone help please? I have norton antivirus and macafee firewall running! Thanks Neal

Hello and welcome to G2G!

Wow, sound's like you have a big problem. To me it sounds like a virus or some type of Malware, if you head over to the MALWARE REMOVAL FORUM and make a post there, the guys will help you fix this if it is a virus.
