Please help! March 27th Norton corporate edition detected TrojanDropper and Alwayup. Been having problems with Pop-ups (even when I am not connected), elitebar, etc. The viruses are gone now (according to Norton), but the problems they let in are very stubborn. A few of the files I have noticed and attempted to get rid of (by reading other posts and following the steps on your site) were Bman, winupdt, searchmiracle, 3dacuc3 (or something like that), elitefoe32. Got rid of most of these (except elitefoe32). I have tried fixing this through the hijack program with no luck. It keeps comming back!
Also, at login (not sure if this is related), I get the following messages:
"Od Host" error
CoCreateInstance failed status is 0x80040154

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" Runtime Error!
Program wireless G Notebook Adapter with SpeedBooster\odhost.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Thanks in advance for your assistance! :tazz:

Hi ambecow

We can definitely help you, but first you need to help us. The first step in this process is to apply Service Pack 1a for Windows XP. Without this update, you're wide open to re-infection, and we're both just wasting our time.
Apply the update, reboot, and post a fresh Hijack This log.

loaded the latest updates. I tried the link, but after update checked my system, it loaded sp2. I hope this is not a problem. It seems like every time I log on to the internet and afterwards run ad-aware, I get at least 36 critical objects to delete, and everytime I run spybot s&d, I have to delete elite bar. grrrr :tazz: I have done this no less than 9 times. I am also getting a vbscript pop up that tells me I need to run a registry cleaner (recommended). I havn't done this because I am superparanoid. I am not sure if this is even a service of my antivirus software. I just hate people that are trying to make the internet a hassle.

Hi ambecow

Please read through the instructions before you start (you may want to print this out).

You are running an out-of-date version of HijackThis; can you please download a new copy (there is a link in my signature), unzip it, and replace your existing copy with the new version.

Download the Microsoft Antispyware
Now run Microsoft Antispyware

Lets see if this will find any hidden Trojan’s http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Run ewido scan
This setup contains the free as well as the plus-version of the ewido security suite. After the installation, a free 14-day test version containing all the extensions of the plus-version will be activated. At the end of the test phase, the extensions of the plus version are deactivated and the freeware version can be used unlimited times. The purchased license code of the plus version can be entered at any time.

Download the CCleaner unzip the file to install. Don't run it yet

Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

Please go offline, close all browsers and any open Windows, making sure that only HijackThis is open. Scan and when it finishes, put an X in the boxes, only next to these following items:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [nyeamyxqf] C:\WINDOWS\fgvlicgn.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [A70F6A1D-0195-42a2-934C-D8AC0F7C08EB] rundll32.exe E6F1873B.DLL,D9EBC318C
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [98D0CE0C16B1] rundll32.exe D0CE0C16B1,D0CE0C16B1
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [etbrun] C:\windows\system32\elitefoe32.exe
O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://software-dl.r...ip/RdxIE601.cab

Click on { red Fix Checked } when finished and exit HijackThis.

Open CCleaner.
Place a check by everything in the Applications tab.
Place a check by Internet Explorer, Windows explorer, and System in the Windows tab.
Run the ccleaner

Reboot into Safe Mode: please see here if you are not sure how to do this.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files/folders, and delete them:
C:\WINDOWS\fgvlicgn.exe<--Delete this file
C:\windows\system32\elitefoe32.exe<--Delete this file
Exit Explorer.Reboot as normal.

Please run the following free, online virus scans.http://www.pandasoft.../start_corp.aspPlease post the logs From Panda virus scan and HJT.log we will need them to remove previous infections that have left files on your system.[/color]
