Internet is really slow

I had some problems before with the comp restarting but now all's well, after help from geekstogo :whistling: however, i now have problems with the internet being really slow, the pages take ages to load up. Thanks in advance.

Are you on broadband or dialup? Is your computer connected to a LAN (router and\or switch)? Have you recently started using scanning software like AVG email scanner, SpywareGuard, or Spybot?

I have Broadband, its not connected to LAN, but i have started using spywareguard, yeah.

My girlfriend is having the same problem with her laptop. She got it in December & up untill a few weeks ago her internet has been lagging. She's connected wireless through RoadRunner. Any advice?

The bottom bar of the internet explorer window shows finding site bbc.co.uk and then the loading bar comes up and it takes ages for it to fully load up.
