Hi,

My laptop keeps showing me a message "windows system error there is an IP address conflict with another system on the network". It started happening a few hours ago and it is continuous. Please tell me if i could fix it and how! Is it that someone is hacking in? :whistling:

I would be so thankful if you could help me!

Do the machines on the network have a fixed IP or is it assigned by a DHCP server of some sort such as a router or gateway? Usually such an error occurs when two machines have the same fixed IP.

If you know the address of the access page of the router you can check who the DHCP clients are but you may not be able to see who the fixed IP users are.
