I did my father's taxes today in two seperate Microsoft Excel documents, and saved the first one as Home taxes, and then completed the other, business taxes, but when I went to save the business taxes I accidentally only hit the Save button, and not the Save As button. So the business taxes were saved under the name 'Home' and the home taxes are now gone I would really like it if there was some way that I could retrieve the Home Taxes, I can't find them in the History or in any of the documents, since when I open 'Home Taxes' now the only thing that's saved is the business taxes document. I don't know if this is possible but I thought I would check before re-doing the taxes tonight. Thank you so much to anyone who read this, and anyone who can help me! Thank you!!

Hi, leighklm. Welcome to Geeks to Go!
The only way I can imagine that you might have the original home file is if you have "autosave" turned on.
Look at this link that explains autosave for Excel 2000 and how to restore the files.
If you have Excel XP, go straight to Tools, Options, Save tab. See if the Autosave box is checked and take note of the location. Browse to that folder and see if you have any files there.
Good luck.

Thank you so much for responding so fast!
Unfortunately my auto save wasn't on, so it looks like I'll have to just re-do it. But thank you anyway!!
