Cannot uninstall Dreamweaver 8

When I launch Dreamweaver 8 I get a message saying that an error has occured, do I want to send a message or debug it. No matter what I do, it will not launch. So I thought I would try and unistall it, but get the message:

"This patch package cannot be opened. Verify that patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to to verify that this is a valid windows intaller patch package".

The only patch which I have used is the update patch from the Macromedia site. Any suggestions?
