Any Suggestions:

I tried re-starting my computer.

These are Walgreen Digital pictures CD's and they have
always worked before.

Thanks
Janie

Hi flowergirl!

Let's have you uninstall the CD-Drive and then have you reboot and let windows reinstall the drivers for it. To do this, do the following:
  • Go to START-->RUN and type devmgmt.msc
  • In the new window that appears, click the + symbol next to CD/DVD-ROM Drives.
  • Locate the drive in question and right-click it and choose UNINSTALL.
  • Once it's finishing uninstalling, reboot your computer.
Once it's rebooted, try putting a CD in it again and see if the same thing happens.

Well, for goodness sake, Fenor.

THAT WORKED!

I followed what you said to do. I am not sure why it worked to uninstall
the CD/DVD program and not re-install it but it worked so I will leave it be!

Wannebe1, thanks for the HELLO.
All is fine here in Northern Indiana...it is finally 'warming' up...
it was above freezing today. LOL

Soon the soil will be thawed and all the snow melted.
Then beautiful Spring flowers will be blooming everywhere. HOORAY!

I am ready to get outside and PLAY!

Sometimes if you open a cd-rom drive to remove a cd before it's done reading the disk and preparing to eject it, it can screw up the settings for it and that can cause it not to work. I've seen cd-rom drives cause computers not to start at all!

I'm glad I could help you with your problem. :whistling:

Cool :whistling: ....thanks for the explanation, Fenor.

Maybe this CD rom drive question thread and your answer will
help someone in the future with a similar problem.
