Dear Geeks to Go
Thanks for your help
My Google has been taken over so that search results are redirected to marketing or other sites rather than the ones required. I have followed the steps suggested above before posting my Hijack This Log. I ran the AVG Anti Spyware and, although I followed the instructions-no scan log was produced! Also when I ran the Panda online scan I got a virus alert and had to abort the download (Avast virus alert: Win32:CTX Virus/Worm VPS version 000722-3)
I did everything else as instructed. To the best of my knowledge my Windows system is automatically updated, and is up to SP2.
Below I have attached the Super-Antispyware log and the Hijack this log. Hope you can help me sort this out as it's driving me insane!
Many thanks
Aardvark

Helloaardvark66 and Welcome to Geeks To Go!

Please read "ALL" of the instructions before proceeding:

Please read this post completely, it may make it easier for you if you copy and paste this post to a new text document or print it for reference later.

SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log is showing Gromozon Rootkit? Let deal with the Wareout infection and go from there.

Please download FixWareout from here:
http://downloads.sub.../Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts. If your firewall gives an alert, (because this tool will download an additional file from the internet), please don't let your firewall block it, but allow it instead.
Then you will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
Once the desktop loads please post the text that will open (report.txt) you can close it - the file has already been saved.

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.(if present):

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{080619DF-3EE5-4B02-B3F6-E03131979D35}: NameServer = 85.255.115.3,85.255.112.11
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{090D963E-599E-4597-946B-9B84CD3C889E}: NameServer = 85.255.115.3,85.255.112.11
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{12EA78C7-0D7B-4954-9D52-AD06F3613B3C}: NameServer = 85.255.115.3 85.255.112.11
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{2D3E98DF-EDD5-4E77-AB73-C218AE4FAE38}: NameServer = 85.255.115.3,85.255.112.11
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{CEA4B1B9-F18A-4A76-959B-9F23B3E2A5C6}: NameServer = 85.255.115.3,85.255.112.11
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{F8E526B6-2BB2-4532-95F6-0A3854C7C0D3}: NameServer = 85.255.115.3,85.255.112.11
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.115.3 85.255.112.11
O17 - HKLM\System\CS1\Services\Tcpip\..\{080619DF-3EE5-4B02-B3F6-E03131979D35}: NameServer = 85.255.115.3,85.255.112.11
O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.115.3 85.255.112.11

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.

Before doing this write down all the settings, Note that not all system/setups even have these settings, While some connection services will require them.

These instructions are basically for home users.

In the windows control panel. If you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category otherwise double click on Network Connections. Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl, and left click on properties. Click the Networking tab. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically

Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.
That option might not be avaiable one some systems
Next Go start run type cmd and hit OK
type
ipconfig /flushdns
then hit enter, type exit hit enter
(that space between g and / is needed)

In your next reply, please include these log(s):

* FixWareout report.txt
* HijackThis log (new)

Also, please let me know how things are running now and if you encountered any problems while you were following the instructions I posted.
