jeanie42,

Welcome to the GTG forums, I will be reviewing your HJT log.

We are going to need to remove a few things, but first I would like you do to the following: The reason I am asking for these first initial steps is that it can clear up some items in the first part of the fix if needed.

I have outlined some preliminary steps that we need to address. You may want to print out these intructions for reference. This process will take a few steps so please be patient and follow the provided directions.

[1.]
First Download CWShredder
And save it to your desktop.
Close all open browser windows and any other open windows.

Install CWShredder, then:

Open CWS and click Check for Updates
Then click "FIX"

[2.]
Please run at least one of these online scans, allow it to delete anything it finds:
You may have to select the auto-fix option prior to scanning, it should be a selection box on the screen. If you are a dial-up user just do one, this can take some time.
If you are a broadband user, I would suggest at least 2 of the 3. One extra scan is most often times enough.TrendMicro HouseCall
BitDefender On-Line Virus Scan
Panda ActiveScan
Please make a note of anything that wasn't or couldn't be fixed.
Reboot your machine when finished.

[3.]
You may have run these programs already, make sure they are up to date and run per provided instructions.
Current Versions are:
Spybot S&D Ver: 1.3 Download Here
Ad-Aware SE Build 1.05 Download Here

Download and install both Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware SE.

Instructions:

Spybot S&D:
Go to your Start Menu >> Programs >> Spybot S&D >> then choose Spybot S&D.

*Close ALL windows except Spybot S&D
*Click the button to "Search for Updates" and download and install the Updates.
*Close Spybot then launch it again
*Click the button "Check for Problems"
*When Spybot is done scanning, it will be showing "RED" (RED) entries, "BLACK" entries and "GREEN" (GREEN) entries in the window
*Put a check mark beside the RED (RED) entries ONLY.
*Choose "Fix Selected Problems" and allow Spybot to fix the RED (RED) entries.

Ad-Aware SE FULL SCAN:
Go to your Start Menu >> Programs >> Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE >> then choose Ad-Aware SE Personal.

When the main window opens look in the bottom right corner and click on Check For Updates Now then click Connect and download the latest reference files.

From main window:
*Click Start then under Select a scan Mode check Perform Full System Scan.
*Next deselect Search for negligible risk entries.
*To scan just click the Next button.

When the scan has finished mark everything for removal and get rid of it.
(Right-click the window and choose select all from the drop down menu and click Next)
The program will ask if you want to fix/delete selected items, choose yes/fix.

[4.]
Enable show hidden files and folders:

* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

[5.]
Update your current Virus Scan Definitions:

[6.]
Reboot into Safe Mode and Scan with Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware SE
Then Scan with your Anti-Virus Program

[7.]
Delete your temp files

Navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Go to Start > Run and type %temp% in the Run box. The Temp folder will open. Click Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

Empty Your Recycle Bin

[8.]
Reboot normally and post a new HJT log by using Add Reply:

jeanie42,

You will have to use IE for the online scans.

You can however run Ad-Aware SE and Spybot S&D.
Make sure that you update them first before running.

Then go ahead with the online scans.

Thanks,

jeanie42,

We have some work to do.
Please print out these instructions as you will not have access to the Internet and your browsers will be closed. This is very important

Please close all browsers and open windows.
Disconnect from the Internet, this means physically remove the cable from the modem or router.

Go to Start | Control Panel | Add-Remove Programs
Remove the following programs if found or any variation.

Media Access

1. Run HijackThis then click on:
  • Config > Misc Tools > Open process manager
  • Select the following files: (hold down the "Ctrl" key to select multiple items)
  • wineperf.exe
  • gah95on6.exe
  • spxpprov.exe
  • Click on Kill process (Answer Yes to the "Are you sure..." question.)
Now scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to the following items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [System CSRSS Patch] scrtkfg.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Media Access] C:\Program Files\Media Access\MediaAccK.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ndfmZkMa] C:\WINDOWS\dysmna.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [abof] C:\WINDOWS\abof.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [o78S37U] wineperf.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Tsl2] C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\tsa\tsl2.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [gah95on6] C:\WINDOWS\System32\gah95on6.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [System CSRSS Patch] scrtkfg.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Zwr2RXY3i] spxpprov.exe

O15 - Trusted Zone: http://ny.contentmatch.net (HKLM)

Now within HJT click "Fix Checked"

Enable show hidden files and folders:

* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Reboot into Safe Mode, you can do this by tapping the F8 key while your system starts up.

Using Windows Explorer find and remove the following folders/files if found.

C:\Windows\scrtkfg.exe <-- File
C:\Windows\System32\scrtkfg.exe <-- File
C:\Program Files\Media Access\ <-- Folder
C:\WINDOWS\dysmna.exe <-- File
C:\WINDOWS\abof.exe <-- File
C:\Windows\wineperf.exe <-- File
C:\Windows\System32wineperf.exe <-- File
C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\tsa <-- Folder
C:\WINDOWS\System32\gah95on6.exe <-- File
C:\Windows\scrtkfg.exe <-- File
C:\Windows\System32scrtkfg.exe <-- File
C:\Windows\spxpprov.exe <-- File
C:\Windows\System32spxpprov.exe <-- File

Reboot normally and post a new HJT log by using Add Reply:

Reconnect your cable:

Thanks,

jeanie42,

Good job, now we have to remove a few more things. Sometimes it is a layered approach on removing items that show up after other ones.

Go to Start | Control Panel | Add-Remove Programs
Remove the following programs if found or any variation.

CxtPls
AutoUpdater

1. Run HijackThis then click on:
  • Config > Misc Tools > Open process manager
  • Select the following files: (hold down the "Ctrl" key to select multiple items)
  • usel400.exe
  • ureamon.exe
  • Click on Kill process (Answer Yes to the "Are you sure..." question.)
Now scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to the following items:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {016235BE-59D4-4CEB-ADD5-E2378282A1D9} - C:\Program Files\CxtPls\cxtpls.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [o78S37U] usel400.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Zwr2RXY3i] ureamon.exe

Now within HJT click "Fix Checked"

Enable show hidden files and folders:

* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Reboot into Safe Mode, you can do this by tapping the F8 key while your system starts up.

Using Windows Explorer find and remove the following folders/files if found.

C:\Program Files\CxtPls\ <-- Folder
C:\Windows\usel400.exe <-- File
C:\Windows\System32\usel400.exe <-- File
C:\Windows\ureamon.exe <-- File
C:\Windows\System32\ureamon.exe <-- File
C:\Program Files\AutoUpdater\ <-- Folder

Reboot normally and post a new HJT log by using Add Reply:

Thanks,

Hello rstones12

First let me say i so appreciate the help your giving me.

Ok on your last post, I can't get past step one, when i open hijack i see the files you asked me to delete, i held down ctrl and highlited them both then selected kill process.

now i'm going to type to you what i'm getting back that it won't let me.

The selected process could not be killed, It may have already closed or it may be protected by windows, this process might be a service, which you can stop from the services applet in admin tools,

To load this window click start, run and enter ('services.msc')

I did not want to continue until i heard back from you, and when i did try to delete them it showed them gone but then hijack would not let me scan it would not let me click on it.

Thank you

jeanie42,

OK, just move on to the rest of the steps and post back a new HJT log.
You can skip the kill process step for now.

Thanks,

jeanie42,

Please read the following instructions before proceeding with the fix.
We have a couple of stubborn ones we need to address.

Update your AVG Anti-Virus, Ad-Aware SE and Spybot S&D

Next

Please disconnect from the Internet, this means phyically remove the cable from the modem or router.
We will reconnect after the fix.

Reboot into Safe Mode

Scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to each of the following items.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {016235BE-59D4-4CEB-ADD5-E2378282A1D9} - C:\Program Files\CxtPls\cxtpls.dll (file missing)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [o78S37U] usel400.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Zwr2RXY3i] ureamon.exe

Using Windows Explorer search for and remove the following folders/files.

C:\Program Files\CxtPls\ <-- Folder
C:\WINDOWS\System32\usel400.exe <-- File
C:\WINDOWS\System32\ureamon.exe <-- File

Now click Fix Checked from the HJT console.

Scan with:
AVG Anti-Virus
Ad-Aware SE
Spybot S&D

Remove anything they find.

Shut down your compter (turn off) wait about 2 minutes.
Reconnect your cable to the Internet.

Restart normally and post a new HJT log by using Add Reply:

Thanks,

jeanie42,

We need to do a few things to get rid of these items:
Make sure to print out these instructions.

First click HERE to download Pocket Killbox by Option^Explicit. Save it to your desktop. Dont run it yet we will shortly.

Now scan with HJT and place a checkmark next to the following items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [o78S37U] exe95en.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Zwr2RXY3i] eseui2.exe

Close all browsers and open windows except HJT and then click Fix Checked

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.

Place the following lines (complete paths) in bold in the "Full Path of File to Delete" box in Killbox, and click the red button with the white X on it after each. Keep track of any files it tells you either could not be found or could not be deleted, as you'll need those later:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\exe95en.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\eseui2.exe

For the files that it either couldn't find or couldn't delete, in the killbox again this time, put a mark next to "Delete on Reboot". Copy and paste each file into the file name box, then click the red button with the X after each. It will ask you if you want to reboot each time you click it, answer NO until after you've pasted the last file name, at which time you should answer Yes.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run TheKillbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try TheKillbox again.

Post back a new HJT log by using Add Reply
