I have a clean build of Windows 2000 SP4 on a new hard drive. Looking at the Administrator's Event Viewer, I find frequent warnings (every 30 minutes) and once-a-day errors. The information appears on my Dell Dimension 8100.

The Dimension (machine name D2) is networked with my Dell Inspiron Laptop (LAPTOP2000) via Ethernet 10/100 and a Linksys Router.



Daily error
Source: Browser; Catagory: None; Description: The browser service has failed to retrieve the backup list too many times on transport \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{1ED780D9-7341-4B87-B913-1D92C6AC2276}. The backup browser is stopping.

Frequent Warning
Source: Browser; Catagory: None; Description: The browser was unable to retrieve a list of domains from the browser master \\LAP2000 on the network \Device\NetBT_Tcpip_{1ED780D9-7341-4B87-B913-1D92C6AC2276}. The data is the error code.

Can you help me? I'm a retired old guy usually attached to his keyboard so I can respond quickly. Thanks in advance.
