How would I go about and disable the bios screens at start up. I want to speed up my computer a little bit when it boots up, and the bios takes around a minute to run through. I want it to go straight to the windows start up screan when I power on. Is this possible?

Hi,

Here is a Link that will explain just what bios does and why you need it.

I have seen on some brand computers a feature in bios called quick boot or something similar all it really does is bypass the memory check and maybe a couple other little things but most bios don't have such a feature for a good reason, that is let it do its job.

Although a 1 minute bios check does seem long unless your computer is very old .
Do you have any other problem?
Are you sure it is not windows that takes long to load?

Do you have a usb drive connected to it? You should disable boot to other devices in the bios if you do. This will cause slowdowns.

I know what the bios is and stuff, it's just that I don't have quick boot enabled, and that's what I want to do. My bios runs through a majority of the tests and it takes about 20 seconds for the memory test alone.
I just want to be able to bypass the entire bios when I boot up.

What you are seeing is not the bios but the POST power on self test. This is all part of owning a computer, you may not be able to bypass it. :tazz:

Nah, it does the POST test, but it also goes through the bios. It shows me screens about "finding boot drve. press f4 to skip." and it just goes through the entire award bios dealio. like 6 screens or something.
