I recently purchased a Samsung 226bw 22" and a GeForce 8800gtx. When i plug in the monitor I can only set it to one resolution. There are like 15 others to choose from but if I pick one other than the default the monitor shuts off and I have to restart the computer to get it to work again.. Just wanted to know if you had any suggestions that could help me fix this problem.

You are probably setting the monitor resolution to a too high resolution. I've just looked up your monitor and the Maximum Resolution is : 1680x1050. Try setting it to that.

Its not that because if i change the resolution to anything but the default it shuts off and goes blank. Even if i set it to a lower resolution.

What about if you click advanced and click the monitor tab, change the Hz to say 70Hz and click apply, then try again.

Also try getting the latest drivers from http://www.nvidia.com/
