anyway to restore data from a backup done w windows backup ver 6 in wim3.1

in a newer computer?

hate to ask but have you tried using the new backup to read the data?
If you have tried and it wont acess it can you still access the win3.1 computer.

data cant be read w my current xp or my old win 98 computer

the comp Im getting the data from is a old 486/25 pen laptop. no modem and only an ext floppy drive. the dos version is 6.22 and the backup vers says 6

Hello there, can you put the data on floppies? It will be tedious but the file format is the same for floppies made with DOS 6.22 and Windows XP so there should not be a problem with translation or filesystems.

i think I did it I broke the data into 8 different zip files/floppys
