Could someone please tell me, is the technology that firefox uses with their browser the same as the accelerated technology that a lot of isps are advertising such as; juno speedband, peoplpc accelerated, etc.

Mozilla layout Engine

As far as I know, there is no accelerator technology used. You can, if you know how, modify the files in FF to make it a little faster. Or you can install the extension Faster Firefox: Fasterfox.
