http://www.geekstogo...ws-XP-t138.html follow these instructions an you should be fine this doesnt wipe anything out such as programs, just overwrites windows files

I am having this exact problem tonight too but i only have the factory restore cd that came with our gateway computer that will restore the operating system & drivers but says it wipes out the hard drive. Waiting to see what you do with yours & if it works.
