Hello everyone.

Okay, I want to thank everyone ahead of time for helping me solve the following problem. I know what the problem is, I just need a helping hand (so I don't screw anything up worse) to get the thing resolved.

For some reason my sound isn't working. So, I checked the device manager and there it was, a nice ugly ? where my multi-media Audio controller should be. Can anyone tell me how to fix it?

Much appreciated.

the first and easiest thing to try would be reinstalling the sound drivers, but to help we need to know what kind of system you have. You may be able to go to the machine makers site and look up your model number and get the drivers straight away.

I have Windows xp SP2. It's a not a brandname comp, just a PC Depot one.

While away, I found my Drivers Disk and popped it in trying to fix it like that. No such luck, I have an ! now beside C-Media AC97 Audio Devices and no sound. Still no sound. I hope I didn't screw anything up.

Sorry to be such a bother,
-Lee
