I started to scan my computer today, using the programs listed on this website, as well as some older programs that are no longer listed on this website. I didn't get very far into my scans, though. I started with Ad-Aware, but after it scanned for less than 30 seconds, my computer restarted itself. It wasn't the kind of restart that happens at the end of some spyware scanners, so they can finish the clean up process. It was a restart that tells me something is wrong. This had happened with Ad-Aware a few weeks ago when I tried to scan, but I was late for work and I didn't have time to investigate. I had half forgotten about it and half hoped that it was a fluke. Can anyone help me with why this is happening? I don't know if it's a problem with Ad-Aware or if I have an infection on my hard drive. If anyone has seen or heard anything about this, please let me know. Thank you for your help.
