I own a Toshiba Satellite A105, Part number PSAA8U0EV034B and a Hitachi 8mm camcorder (VM-E545LA) that uses 8mm Video cassettes. The Hitachi has RCA output jacks for video and audio, (round, yellow and white like older stereos would use) and a 20 pin square port which I have not identified yet. The Satellite has USB and Firewire (i.LINK) ports.

I would like to connect the camcorder to my Satellite and record the videos from the cassettes to DVDs using the DVD-R in my Satellite. Can anyone suggest how to do this? I am not opposed to purchasing a special cable if necessary (and reasonably priced).

Thank you,
gotmtn

I moved this to the Video & Audio Editing forum where it should be.
