What do you when booting up and your box hangs at;
Detecting IDE Drives...

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Have you added or removed anything from the case?
Could be a loose or bad cable going to the drive.

If you are comfortable. Shut down the computer and open the case. Check/ reseat the ribbon cable going to the hard drive, and try again.

Yes, I'm comfortable with opening the case.
In fact, it's always open.

I checked all cable connections then replaced the primary cable.
Turned box back on and it worked.

Was the cable bad? I don't know.
I may put it back in later to see.
For now, I'm just glad the dumb thing is working.
