I know how to change the background to a Word document (Format/Background/Change Pattern) ... but how can I change the background of <selected cell> in a Word table? Thanks.

Hello WDC202,

Pick the table cell you want to change and right click, then goto Borders and Shading, then goto Shading Tab at the top, pick your color etc and on the Right side where it says Apply to: use the arrow and select Cell.

Hope that helps!

Hi wdc202,

You're welcome!

Yes, you can use the exact same technique to change the Shading, Borders, and Patterns for the table, individual cells or paragraphs.
