Hello,

I am having issues installing FFXI on my DVD drive.

Everytime I try to install I get the following message:
"1608: unable to create installdriver instance, return code: -2147319765"

I did a little bit of research around before posting here and found this article:
http://consumer.inst....asp?id=Q108440

So, I followed the steps.

Still nothing.

I've been having problems with my dvd drive since I reformated. It's an Emachine T2482. Originally I had one of those all-in-1 discs that you get with emachines, but I installed window xp pro on it a while ago. It hasn't been able to play DVDs, either. I get a message saying I don't have a proper DVD decoder. I'm not the most computer savvy person in the world, so i dont' want to go around just downloading random things trying to fix the problem.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction, this is frustrating, heh.

Thanks for reading.
