Cannot load Windows updates

every time I try to get windows XP Media Center and Windows defender updates, I get an error that the page cannot be displayed. windows defender gives me a error code 0x8007000e (which I cannot find on the Microsoft website)

I searched the Microsoft website to no avail

Any ideas?
