Example: schoolprojectonhealthissuesandothers.txt
and its changed to SCHOO~.txt?

It does this with some of my music files too, sometimes I can't rename the file or even open it.

That talks about uploading a file. I just saved a file, and a few of my music files that have Various Artists on it are renamed weird and its not 255 Characters .. I dont get it, because I cant read the file name, it just looks like EXAMP~.wma

Run a scan with some good antimalware programs such as AVG antispyware, spybot search and destroy, Ad-Aware SE, Avast (links in my signature)
