I have a Toshiba A105-S4254 and I am running XP media on it. I can not log on after it has restarted. All it shows is a black screen with a blue box that says Enter Password. I have tried everything possible as far as passwords go, but I never set a password for bios so I am not sure why it has started doing this. If you enter the wrong password three times the computer shuts itself off.

Any suggestions??

You will have to contact Toshiba.

Technical Support: 1-800-457-7777
To receive expedited service, have your warranty registration number available when calling 1-800-457-7777 for support. This allows Toshiba to direct your support call to the right specialist for your product, resulting in getting you to your resolution faster.

That message usually means that you have set a BIOS password or the hard drive is not recognized by the laptop. Some of the A105's had a problem with the hard drive bay allowing the drive to become disconnected and cause the problem you're describing. Toshiba has modified the HDD compartment cover to correct the problem.

Is it under warranty and do you live near an authorized service provider?
