Hi huv23,

I have good news for you. The real bad infection, the one that makes people reformat their drives sometimes, that one is gone. There is only normal cleanup to do.

I have people at the house now but I'll get back to you as soon as possible with some junk cleaning stuff.

Now you can have a good day,

Thanks for that. I am still getting this aurora and spotresults popup coming up every now and then but its not nearly as bad. I could never have done this without oyu, so thank you. Its really nice to take your time ot help someone you dont even know. Its only been frustrating because i am in australia and my hours dont generally gel with yours, which means that after i fix the thing i have to wait 12+ hours to do the next step!

Thanks again

have fun

Hi huv123, guests have gone.

We are now at the point where we have some very touchy work to do. Take your time and be as precise as possible. I will try and provide you with the clearest directions possible.

1) Download "service Filter" from : HERE to your Desktop so you can find it easily later. Do not use it now.

2) Open HijackThis, run a SCAN, Scroll down the list of entries until you reach the 023 entries. Here I need you to find the following entries:

O23 - Service: Microsoft Windows Update (Microsoft Update) - Unknown owner -C:\WINDOWS\System32\C:\WINDOWS\System32\scvvhost.exe" -netsvcs (file missing)
O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe (file missing)

Write down, on a piece of paper for future reference, all the particulars of the above entries.

Close HijackThis.
---------------------------------
3. Now open Service Filter by clicking on its icon.
. Then click OK and OK again when prompted.
. A Wordpad text will appear on your desktop. Scroll down the list of services until you find the services containing the names you wrote down during the preceding procedure.
. For each 023 involved, carefully write down the name that appears beside the label "Service Name". These names will be required in the next step.
. Close the program when finished.
----------------------------
4. Now we need to work from the Command Prompt

Go Start>>Programs>>Accessories>>Command Prompt

. A black box will appear with a flashing cursor. At the cursor, type cd.. then cd.. again and repeat the procedure until the writing preceeding the cursor says C:\>

. Now carefully type the following: sc delete servicename, where servicename is replaced by the one of the real service names that you have written down. Press ENTER. Probably Microsoft Update

. Repeat the same procedure using the second service name this time. Press ENTER. Probably SvcProc

.Close the Command Prompt box.
------------------------------------------
Now to stuff we are more familiar with:

Now let's do some work on your log:

First we need to make all files and folders VISIBLE:

Go to start>control panel>folder options>view (tab)
*choose to "show hidden files and folders,"
*uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" and the "hide extensions for know file types" boxes.
*Close the window with ok
*All hidden files will now be visible

Close all browser windows and RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.
. Click the Config button located in the lower right hand corner of the HijackThis window.
. When the new screen opens, find and click the Miscellaneous Tools button.
. Then choose the Open Process Manager button.
. From the list of processes, hilight the following items by clicking them, ONE AT A TIME, then DELETE them by clicking the KILL button:

c:\windows\system32\uuxpyr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\svphost.exe

Once all items have been KILLED, click the Back button which will return you to the HijackThis main window. Now place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Windows Update] scvvhost.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [hohzlb] c:\windows\system32\uuxpyr.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\RunServices: [Microsoft Windows Update] scvvhost.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Microsoft Windows Update] scvvhost.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [svphost.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\svphost.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\RunOnce: [Microsoft Windows Update] scvvhost.exe
O16 - DPF: {AB29A544-D6B4-4E36-A1F8-D3E34FC7B00A} (WTHoster Class) - http://install.wildt...lim/install.cab
O20 - Winlogon Notify: Explorer - C:\WINDOWS\system32\f0l00a3med.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: MS-DOS Emulation - C:\WINDOWS\system32\r8p80i7ue8.dll
O23 - Service: Microsoft Windows Update (Microsoft Update) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\System32\C:\WINDOWS\System32\scvvhost.exe" -netsvcs (file missing)
O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe (file missing)

Now with all the items selected, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button. Close the HijackThis window and Reboot Your System in Safe Mode

How to use the F8 method to Start Your Computer in Safe Mode

*Restart the computer.
*as soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
*Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
*press Enter.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files and delete them (if they are present):

c:\windows\system32\uuxpyr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\svphost.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\f0l00a3med.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\r8p80i7ue8.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\C:\WINDOWS\System32\scvvhost.exe (Be careful here) only remove what I have highlighted if you find it in exactly the same format as the whole path
C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Exit Explorer, and REBOOT BACK INTO NORMAL MODE

Finally,RUN Hijackthis again and produce a new HJT log. Post it in the forum so we can check how everytjhing looks now.

Hi again huv123,

W32/Forbot-DH is the name of the worm/virus that is blocking you based upon Sophos' viral terminology.

What Anti-virus are you running on your system?

If you don't want to buy one, try AVG7 which is free.

Fresh HJT log please

Hi huv123,

Go with AVG7 until you are finished. In addition you can run online scans and a trojan scan for free. But you need the real-time protection of an AV at all times.

Hi huv123,

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

B]c:\windows\system32\nqtyik.exe[/B]

Once all items have been KILLED, click the Back button which will return you to the HijackThis main window. Now place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [gepvmtg] c:\windows\system32\nqtyik.exe
O20 - Winlogon Notify: Installer - C:\WINDOWS\system32\u8ruli9918.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: RunOnceEx - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ucrvoica.dll

Now with all the items selected, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button. Close the HijackThis window and Reboot Your System in Safe Mode

How to use the F8 method to Start Your Computer in Safe Mode

*Restart the computer.
*as soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
*Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
*press Enter.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files and delete them (if they are present):

c:\windows\system32\nqtyik.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\u8ruli9918.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ucrvoica.dll

Exit Explorer, and REBOOT BACK INTO NORMAL MODE

Finally,RUN Hijackthis again and produce a new HJT log. Post it in the forum so we can check how everytjhing looks now.

Regards,

Trevuren

Hi huv123,

We also need to disable your Microsoft AntiSpyware Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes.
Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Click on Tools, Settings.
In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
Under Startup Options uncheck: Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck: Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

Now let's do some work on your log:

First we need to make all files and folders VISIBLE:

Go to start>control panel>folder options>view (tab)
*choose to "show hidden files and folders,"
*uncheck the "hide protected operating system files" and the "hide extensions for know file types" boxes.
*Close the window with ok
*All hidden files will now be visible

Close all browser windows and RUN HijackThis.
. Click the SCAN button to produce a log.
. Click the Config button located in the lower right hand corner of the HijackThis window.
. When the new screen opens, find and click the Miscellaneous Tools button.
. Then choose the Open Process Manager button.
. From the list of processes, hilight the following items by clicking them, ONE AT A TIME, then DELETE them by clicking the KILL button:

c:\windows\system32\wtxqkdo.exe

Once all items have been KILLED, click the Back button which will return you to the HijackThis main window. Now place a check mark beside each one of the following items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ftkvifd] c:\windows\system32\wtxqkdo.exe
O20 - Winlogon Notify: App Management - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ucrvoica.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: Installer - C:\WINDOWS\system32\cTg18030.dll

Now with all the items selected, delete them by clicking the FIX checked button. Close the HijackThis window and Reboot Your System in Safe Mode

How to use the F8 method to Start Your Computer in Safe Mode

*Restart the computer.
*as soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
*Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
*press Enter.

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files and delete them (if they are present):

c:\windows\system32\wtxqkdo.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\ucrvoica.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\cTg18030.dll

Exit Explorer, and REBOOT BACK INTO NORMAL MODE

Finally,RUN Hijackthis again and produce a new HJT log. Post it in the forum so we can check how everytjhing looks now.

Regards,

Trevuren
