If it is a 25 character - alpha numeric key, yes

That gives you the option to borrow a same version CD to run a repair install or use the recovery console

This, if you haven't installed any new software recently

This, if you have recently installed new software and want to try removing it

If asked to enter a product key, it must be the one from the sticker on your PC

Have you installed anything recently, if so, that is likely to be the cause and you may need to use recovery console to uninstall it

Well it said your computer is ready to install updates or something. Then I was just emailing and it started to get sluggish so I restarted my computer and when it restarted that fatal error came up.

It won't load to the desktop in any mode?

Have you got data you need, have you got access to another PC to install your hard drive to?

How much free space is on your hard drive
