I just purchased VirusScan Plus 2007 from McAfee. After I install it and try to run it it keeps"looking for mcshell.exe" I have uninstalled everything virus scan related and reloaded it. Even the help desk is stumped. What Can I do?

I have tried both ways, downloading the free virus scan from AOL stops at 58% and the disc looks like it loads but when it goes to the registration screen, it stays for a second and then clears off. When I go to the add/remove programs and try to delete Mcafee to start again, it shows the program but when I go to remove it, it says it is empty. When I click on the icon it goes to "looking for mcshell.exe" The McAfee help desk thinks a virus or spyware is doing this. I also cannot open the Windows firewall.

I've run in safe mode and removed all Mcafee products(both add/remove programs and with the help desk-manually)

Download: CCleaner. Run the program and clean everything. Then do a Registry clean. Reinstall McAfee and try to run it.

This is all I can think of for now.
