add/remove program will not work. just keeps flashing. all other
CONTROL PANEL icons work perfectly. I suspect spyware but don't
know how it could affect something other than the internet (IE6).

Any help would be appreciated!

does the icon still work?
does it flash or seem to refresh itself constantly?
if you can click on it does the add/remove programs interface seem different?
