Hey, I'm new here. I'm at my girlfriend's house for the weekend, and decided while I'm here to try to look into why her computer is running so horribly slow.

The first thing I did was try to ctrl+alt+del to see what, if any, suspicious processes might be running, but task manager doesn't open. So I searched for that issue while getting a couple anti-spyware programs. I found a couple returns for it, one using hijackthis, so searched for tech forums and hijackthis, and that's how I ended up here.

I want thru the must read thread. I ran the ATF cleaner, superantispyware, avg, and spyware terminator, and found one trojan and various other things mostly consiting of tracking cookies. I've rebooted and everything's still the same. No task manager and terribly slow. I went into msconfig and selected everything and rebooted to run hijack this, and here is my report from it...

There's one other thing I forgot to mention. Upon rebooting, once windows is fully loaded back up, a pair of identical notepad documents pop-up titled "desktop.ini" that contain the following:

[.ShellClassInfo]
[email protected]%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21787
