I just bought a new Gateway computer, and I have everything running very smoothly on it except for my mouse. I did not use the mouse included with the Gateway because it only has three buttons, so I kept the 5-button mouse from my old computer. Every few hours it will randomly just stop working. The keyboard still runs fine and the computer is not locked up, so I am guessing it is a hardware issue. If I unplug the mouse and plug it back in, it works again.

Any insights on this would be greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work, Geeks!

Most mouses will come with drivers that help when running other than the standard 3 button mouse in XP. It sounds like you need to find some drivers.
