The current top 3 cards are

nvidia 460
ati 5870
ati 5850

and a very good lower end, but very capable gaming card is the ati 5770. I upgraded from my nvidia 8800 and having no problem running games with everything turned up.

I'll update the posts shortly

Do you mean that from a price:performance standpoint, starjax? Strictly in terms of performance, the ATI 5970 is currently the top graphics card, and the Nvidia 480 is the top single-GPU graphics card.

price / performance always. When you get into price is not option then you get into some interesting and sometimes highly tailored video cards. At the moment the nvidia 480's start at about 500 USD. The ATI 5970 is 700 USD. The 5870 X2 is bout 1300 USD.

I have Nvidia GeForce GTX 470 on my system and can run every game on maximum graphic and with outrages FPS, so don't think ATI 5970 or 5870 X2 is worth the money.
They will get old after a year or so. Mean while I will be able to change 2-3 new graphic cards till reach that amount of money :)

By the way for 1300 it is possible to buy really good gaming computer :)

yep for that money, I bet you would bet more out of a new cpu / motherboard (performance / $$) than you would with the gpu.

But i can play games on my intel card and its kinda good.

Even mine is of Intel with the fact that its built for non-gaming stuff.

It appears that there have been recent ATI price changes that have really shifted the look of the guide in October. The only Nvidia cards that made the list this month were the 8800 GTS 640mb and the 8800 GTX.

The GeForce 8800 GTS 320 MB finally has some strong competition - so strong, in fact, that it beats it in the price segment.

In my Past Video Card i used GeForce 8800 GTs but when i play World Of Warcraft Cataclysm. They upgrade more high graphics so i change my 8800 GTs to 9900 GT. The Graphics of 9900 GT is so cool.
