Upgrade to Vista?

I've read the new features Vista offers and most don't seem very impressive. I use my computer many for gaming particulary games like cnc generals. I have a burned copy of Vista and I'm trying to decide whether or not to upgrade. I've heard some people say it's not as stable as XP and that it would be smarter to wait. Here's what I'm running

Windows XP Home
Amd athlon processor 3400, 2.21 GHz
1 GB ram
Nvidia GeForce 6100 graphics card
181 GB hard drive

I think windows xp is a pretty solid OS. The only reason I would switch would be for better graphics and gameplay. What's the best advice?

Hi Die4me...

If your XP installation is working, I'd keep that. You'll want to have a valid version of Vista, more ram, and make sure your hardware is supported by Vista before trying to upgrade and expect to run any good games.
