is it possible to transfer data from one computer to another over a network? i just a new computer and i want to send all of my old multimedia files to this computer. is there software i need to download? or is it possible to send it now? I'm running xp home if that helps. any help is appreciated!

Setup file sharing is all you really have to do... if you are connecting PC to PC you will need a crossover cable to connect the two. Setup a folder on the system, share it and then transfer the files over.
