I'm having a slight problem with my new video card. When I contacted BFG about it, they said I had a 300W power supply and the card needs 350 to run. Does that mean I need more than a 350W power supply? Or does that mean I need JUST a 350W?

Seperate question- When installing a power supply for my Compaq PC, does it matter what brand/make/model/etc i buy, or are they all the same? Also- what is the risk of frying something when i'm swapping said supply?

to be on the safe side, go with something higher than 350W. I'd suggest 400-500W, though higher is fine. Not all power supplies are the same. The risk of "frying something" is low when using a good power supply, but when using something like a Powmax, the risk goes way up. (along with the risk of burning your house down)

Some good brands: Antec, Cooler Master, Hiper, NZXT, PC Power and Cooling, Tagan, and XION.
