I want to send email messages (composed using WORD) that include simple block diagrams – that is daigrams of interconnected rectangles with text within the rectangles. Is their a capability in WORD that facilitates that? Thanks.

Hi wdc202.
Yes, Word can do diagrams. In Word 2003, click Insert menu, Diagrams. If you don't care for the standard diagram options, you create your own by inserting text boxes and lines.
However, depending on the email format you choose and the email client/format of the recipient, the email may not get delivered as you intend. A diagram is a single drawing object while text boxes and lines are mutliple drawing objects that aren't really attached to each other. Some email clients convert everything to simple text and some strip graphics out completely. You may want to think about emailing your diagram as an attachment instead of in the email body.

Thanks. Sounds like it is jus what I want.
May I ask if there is a tutorial that explains how to add, delete, move the boxes around?
Would save a lot of time and frustration over just trying to learn by hit-and-miss experimenting.

Word actually has a pretty good help section for Diagrams. If you click the Help menu, Microsoft Word Help, type in diagram, you should see Change Diagram high in the list.
