I have an HP ze2000 and the dc jack was burnt out so I replaced it my self, put the computer back together turned it on and everything worked fine for about an hour. Then the wireless connection was dropped so I tried to turn the wireless antenna off then back on with the button, however then computer froze after I turned the wireless off.

I held the power button down for about 10 seconds and it shut off completely. I waited a few minutes then turned it back on, and heard 2 beeps and the next screen is black and says f1 to resume or f2 for setup. I tried f2 but it doesn't work only f1.

F1 boots me to my desktop and it seems as if everything is working fine from there except the wireless and I get a pop up that says HP Wireless Assistant did not detect any supported wireless devices. I also get a New Hardware found bubble and when I click it, it says "PCI to micro channel bridge" I tried to install it and it wouldn't and for some reason I can't connect to the internet using my LAN to try to get the info online to install it.

I do have the application and driver recover dvd that I ran last night that I don't think helped.

Today when I turned the computer on I heard the 2 beeps again and same screen, pressed f1 it went through the whole booting process and I still can't connect to the internet. I do get the same HP Assistant message, however this time when it says new hardware found it is for Texas Intruments PCIxx21/x515 Cardbus Controller and it won't install either.

So that's my chapter in the book, if anyone could help me out that would be great.

not sure if it helps but the only time I've ever seen the DOS "f1 to resume or f2 for setup" message was when I erased my harddrive and my windows xp CD wasn't bootable for some reason. Once I got me a new windows xp cd it went on to partition it and worked fine.

No idea anything about why your wireless internet going down would cause that message tho. As I said before, just fyi. Maybe it will help somehow.

I get the f1 & f2 option and like I said everything loads fine except for the wireless. If my hard drive died I wouldn't be able to do anything correct? I am able to do everything but internet.

ya i doubt it's a harddrive problem, i was just adding some info incase it somehow helped. Sounds like you probably have a problem with the antenna or maybe the hardware for the wireless somewhere.

Ok today I found the driver on the Hp website for the Texas Intruments PCIxx21/x515 Cardbus Controller I saved it on my ipod and transfered it to my laptop.

I installed it and then restarted the computer but under device manager the PCI to micro channel bridge still gets a yellow question mark then it refreshes and says that its the Texas Instrument. I get a little pop up window that says new hardware found and it points to the Texas Instrument.

However, it's already installed but apparently didn't?
I'm confused.

ETA: I did notice that I says the device is not configured correctly. AND I still get the 2 beeps at startup

While I was researching, I came across a topic you had at another site. Below is the final post you made there:

Ok, So I took the laptop apart AGAIN.... 3rd time now and just looked in it to see if anything was unpluged ect. Nothing was so I put it back together, turned it on and NO beeping, then a pop up thingy came on and said new hardward or something and it found my wireless card. I installed it turned my wireless zero config. on and it worked fine. I turned it off then back on and seems to be working fine.

For the record it was 2 short beeps that meant Parity circuit failure which I just couldn't understand no matter how much I googled and read about it.
