I have a 3.0 system running XP Pro with separate DVD and CD drives. Everything was fine - no virus, no changes. I reboot and suddenly the OS sees the drives, identifies them by manufacturer in device mgr, has the drivers loaded but gives me an error message saying the hardware could not be located.

I have done all physical swapping of drives, jumpers, add, remove, install, uninstall, boot, reboot ... one at a time, both, none etc..... and I still have the same message. In my BIOS they are both recognized and installed.

Any ideas?
