Hi,

I was trying to install the new ICQ 6 on Windows Vista x64. I quit the running instance of ICQ 5.1 and tried to install the new version. In the end setup sends the message "Installation Cancelled" - and no more information. (I asked someone running Vista x64, too and he told me it would work fine.)

Does anyone have similar problems or a has anyone got an idea how to fix this?

ICQ 6 is not officially supported on Vista (let alone on x64).

You may want to try Pidgin IM (formerly GAIM), which has support for the ICQ client (along with many others).

I wondered because... http://download.icq....quirements.html
But maybe there are problems with the x64.

And as I said, i asked someone running Vista x64 too and ICQ 6 runs.

Seems as if i just had to wait.

I got it!

It's working now! I started Windows in Safe Mode and re-installed ICQ 6.
