what happened to my add remove program it will not open and it diapared from my control panel

Go to Start> Run and type: sfc /scannow then press the <Enter> key. You will need to place your XP CD in the drive.

thanks for the help but i do not have the cd the computer came with xp on it i have had it for 4 years and havent had a problem but i need to open it i have tried safe mode and that did not work either. any other suggestions?
