Hey gang ...

I'm trying to help a dear friend who is having the same problem I had some months ago, but can't seem to recall how I resolved it for myself.

New HP PC running XP - DIAL-UP Connection - CAN "connect" to ISP, but NOT able to view any web pages (surf/access the net). Getting the "Connection" icon in the taskbar (along with "good" speed - 50.6+kbps/and active "duration" in the status window), but IE (6) will not "open" (start), nor will OE.

I know there is probably a simple fix - but I am stumped!(?)! Any ideas??

Thanks in advance,
g ...
