Hello I'm new to Geeks to Go and a complete novice when it come to computers.
Recently my computer has started freezing/crashing indiscrimently. I have to resart my computer 3 or 4 times before it will "behave".

I have down loaded spy bot and that cleaned up loads of spyware on my PC and it is running slightly better but the crashing still continues.

I ran Dr Watson but (s)he just said tha unknow had altered windows system files and has previously mention SHELL something or other altering windows.

Any help would be gratefully recieved but please be gentle with me, I am easily confused!!

Welcome moomoo <_<

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

There were a few items which didn't come up on the scan so I couldn't fix them - the first 4 or 5 items such as C:\program files\my websearch\bar\1 BINMWSOEMON.EXE

It took 6 attemps to start up my PC - it hates hibernation!

I hope this helps and thankyou for helping me!!

Try restarting in Safe Mode. Reboot in safe mode (by tapping F8 at startup and select safe mode from the menu).

Restart Hijack This and fix these entries:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\MYWEBSEARCH\BAR\1.BIN\MWSOEMON.EXE
O4 - Startup: MyWebSearch Email Plugin.lnk = C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\bar\1.bin\MWSOEMON.EXE

Delete this folder (MYWEBSEARCH):
C:\PROGRAM FILES\MYWEBSEARCH

Reboot and post a fresh log. <_<

You log appears clear. We can try a couple other things.

Here's a removal tool for Look2Me, run it and see if it finds anything:

Here's link to a free trojan scan:

Hello there! Its been awhile! I've used the cleaner - it found 5 Trojans and deleated them but now I cannot get into my computer. It goes into either a resart loop - constantly resarting as soon as the desktop has loaded or it freezes as soonas you move the mouse on the loaded desktop. If I can get into my PC it literally is for just minutes! Getting onto the internet is a complete no no! I'm doing this from work!!!!
Any other ideas?

Try restarting the computer using "last known good configuration":
1. Start Windows, or if it is running, shut Windows down, and then turn off the computer.
2. Restart the computer. The computer begins processing a set of instructions known as the Basic Input/Output System (BIOS). What is displayed depends on the BIOS manufacturer. Some computers display a progress bar that refers to the word BIOS, while others may not display any indication that this process is happening.
3. As soon as the BIOS has finished loading, begin tapping the F8 key on your keyboard. Continue to do so until the Windows Advanced Options menu appears. If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, some computers display a "keyboard error" message. To resolve this, restart the computer and try again.
4. Using the arrow keys on the keyboard, scroll to and select the Last Known Good Configuration menu item, and then press Enter.
